These Vendor Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the iRent.my rental marketplace (the “Platform”). By registering as a vendor/host/lessor (“Vendor”), you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Definitions
- Platform: The website and mobile applications operated by iRent.my.
- Vendor: Any individual or entity listing items or spaces for rent.
- Customer: Any user who requests or books a rental.
- Listing: A rental offering published by a Vendor.
- Booking: A confirmed rental transaction.
- Rental Period: The agreed start and end time/date of a Booking.
2. Vendor Eligibility & Account
2.1 Vendors must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter binding contracts.
2.2 Vendors must provide accurate, current, and complete registration information, including identity verification where required.
2.3 Each Vendor is responsible for all activities under their account and must keep login credentials secure.
2.4 The Platform reserves the right to approve, suspend, or terminate Vendor accounts at its discretion.
3. Listings & Accuracy
3.1 Vendors must ensure all Listings are truthful, accurate, and not misleading, including descriptions, photos, specifications, availability, pricing, and rules.
3.2 Vendors warrant that they have full legal rights, ownership, or authorization to rent the listed item/space.
3.3 Prohibited or illegal items/spaces are strictly forbidden.
3.4 The Platform may edit, reject, or remove Listings that violate these Terms or applicable laws.
4. Pricing, Fees & Taxes
4.1 Vendors set their own rental prices, security deposits, delivery fees, setup fees, and optional add-ons, subject to iRent.my rules.
4.2 iRent.my may charge service fees, commissions, payment processing fees, or delivery coordination fees as disclosed on the Platform.
4.3 Vendors are responsible for declaring, collecting, and remitting any applicable Malaysian taxes, including SST, income tax, or other statutory charges, unless otherwise stated.
4.4 All prices must be clearly displayed and comply with Malaysian consumer protection laws.
5. Booking, Acceptance & Cancellations
5.1 Bookings may be request-based and subject to Vendor approval.
5.2 Vendors must respond to booking requests within the stated timeframe.
5.3 Vendors must honor confirmed Bookings. Cancellations by Vendors may result in penalties, reduced visibility, or account suspension.
5.4 Cancellation policies (flexible/moderate/strict) must be clearly stated and consistently applied.
6. Deposits, Damages & Insurance
6.1 Vendors may require security deposits subject to Platform rules.
6.2 Vendors are responsible for inspecting items before and after each rental and reporting damages within the allowed timeframe.
6.3 Vendors are encouraged to maintain adequate insurance coverage for their Listings.
6.4 The Platform does not guarantee recovery of damages and is not an insurer.
7. Vendor Obligations
7.1 Provide rental items or spaces in safe, clean, and fully functional condition.
7.2 Comply with all applicable Malaysian laws, regulations, licensing, and safety standards.
7.3 Vendors are solely responsible for arranging and managing delivery and pickup of rental items unless otherwise expressly agreed with the Customer.
7.4 Vendors must ensure timely delivery, pickup, and verification of item condition at the start and end of each rental.
7.5 All delivery fees, setup fees, and related logistics charges must be clearly disclosed in the Listing.
7.6 Provide clear usage instructions, restrictions, and return requirements.
7.7 Respond promptly and professionally to Customer inquiries and booking requests.
7.8 Maintain accurate availability calendars and pricing at all times.
8. Prohibited Conduct
Vendors must not:
- Misrepresent Listings or engage in fraudulent behavior.
- Discriminate unlawfully against Customers.
- Circumvent Platform fees or payment systems.
- Use the Platform for illegal or unauthorized purposes.
- Collect Customer data outside Platform rules.
9. Payments & Payouts
9.1 Customer payments may be held by iRent.my in escrow and released to Vendors only after successful completion of the rental period.
9.2 Payouts may be delayed in the event of disputes, damage claims, refunds, or policy violations.
9.3 Vendors agree that iRent.my may deduct commissions, platform fees, delivery fees, penalties, or approved damage costs before payout.
9.4 Payout schedules and supported payout methods are determined by iRent.my.
10. Disputes & Chargebacks
10.1 Vendors must cooperate fully in dispute resolution processes initiated by Customers or iRent.my.
10.2 iRent.my may request evidence including photos, delivery records, chat logs, or inspection reports.
10.3 The Platform’s decision on disputes is final to the extent permitted by Malaysian law.
10.4 Vendors are responsible for chargebacks arising from their Listings, delivery failures, misrepresentation, or conduct.
11. Service Level Agreement (SLA) & Penalties
11.1 Vendors must respond to booking requests and customer messages within 24 hours.
11.2 Vendors must deliver rental items on or before the agreed time.
11.3 The following actions may result in penalties:
- Late delivery or pickup without valid reason
- Failure to provide the listed item
- Poor or unsafe item condition
- Repeated cancellations or no-shows
11.4 Penalties may include partial or full refunds to Customers, reduced listing visibility, temporary suspension, or account termination.
12. Damage Claims & Reporting Timeline
12.1 Vendors must inspect items immediately before and after each rental.
12.2 Any damage, loss, or missing items must be reported via the Platform within 24 hours after rental completion.
12.3 Claims submitted after this timeframe may be rejected.
12.4 Vendors must provide clear evidence such as photos, videos, or inspection records.
12.5 Security deposits may be used to cover approved damage claims.

14. Vendor Summary (Plain English)
- You own or are authorized to rent the item
- You manage delivery and pickup yourself
- You must deliver on time and in good condition
- You must respond within 24 hours
- You must report damages within 24 hours after return
- iRent.my holds payment and releases it after rental completion
- Breaking the rules may result in penalties or account suspension
15. Intellectual Property
15.1 Vendors grant the Platform a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use Listing content for marketing and operations.
15.2 Vendors must not infringe third-party intellectual property rights.
16. Limitation of Liability
16.1 iRent.my is a marketplace only and is not a party to rental agreements between Vendors and Customers.
16.2 To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, iRent.my shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
17. Indemnification
Vendors agree to indemnify and hold harmless iRent.my, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from the Vendor’s Listings, rentals, delivery activities, or breaches of these Terms.
18. Suspension & Termination
18.1 iRent.my may suspend or terminate Vendor access for violations, repeated SLA breaches, fraud, or risks to the Platform or users.
18.2 Upon termination, active Bookings may be cancelled and payouts withheld or adjusted as necessary to resolve disputes or claims.
19. Amendments
iRent.my may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
