These Customer Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the iRent.my rental marketplace (the “Platform”). By creating an account, requesting a booking, or completing a rental, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Definitions
- Platform: The iRent.my website and mobile applications.
- Customer: Any individual or entity that books or requests a rental.
- Vendor: A third-party provider listing items or spaces for rent.
- Listing: A rental offering published on the Platform.
- Booking: A confirmed rental transaction.
- Rental Period: The agreed start and end date/time of a Booking.
2. Eligibility & Account
2.1 Customers must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering binding contracts.
2.2 Customers must provide accurate, current, and complete account information.
2.3 Customers are responsible for all activity under their account and for keeping login credentials secure.
3. Platform Role
3.1 iRent.my is a marketplace only and is not the owner, operator, or provider of rental items or spaces.
3.2 Rental agreements are formed directly between Customers and Vendors.
3.3 iRent.my is not responsible for Vendor conduct, item condition, or delivery performance.
4. Listings & Availability
4.1 Listing descriptions, prices, and availability are provided by Vendors.
4.2 iRent.my does not guarantee the accuracy of Listings.
4.3 Customers are responsible for reviewing Listing details, rules, and fees before confirming a Booking.
5. Booking & Payments
5.1 Bookings may be subject to Vendor approval.
5.2 Customer payments may be held by iRent.my in escrow and released to the Vendor after successful completion of the rental.
5.3 Prices may include rental fees, security deposits, delivery fees, setup fees, platform fees, and applicable taxes.
5.4 Customers authorize iRent.my to process payments and refunds in accordance with Platform policies.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
6.1 Cancellation policies are set by Vendors and displayed in each Listing.
6.2 Refund eligibility depends on the applicable cancellation policy and booking status.
6.3 iRent.my reserves the right to issue refunds where required by Malaysian law or dispute resolution outcomes.
7. Customer Obligations
7.1 Use rental items responsibly and only for lawful purposes.
7.2 Follow all usage instructions, safety guidelines, and restrictions provided by the Vendor.
7.3 Return items on time and in the same condition as received, excluding normal wear and tear.
7.4 Customers are responsible for loss or damage caused during the rental period.
8. Delivery & Pickup
8.1 Delivery and pickup are managed by Vendors unless otherwise stated.
8.2 Customers must be available at the agreed time and location.
8.3 Failed delivery or pickup due to Customer unavailability may result in additional charges or forfeiture of fees.
9. Deposits & Damage
9.1 Vendors may require security deposits.
9.2 Damage claims must be supported by evidence.
9.3 Approved damage costs may be deducted from the security deposit.
10. Disputes
10.1 Customers must cooperate in dispute resolution processes.
10.2 iRent.my may review evidence from both parties.
10.3 iRent.my’s decision on disputes is final to the extent permitted by Malaysian law.
11. Prohibited Conduct
Customers must not:
- Misuse or damage rental items
- Engage in fraudulent activity
- Circumvent Platform payment systems
- Use the Platform for illegal purposes
12. Limitation of Liability
12.1 To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, iRent.my is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
12.2 iRent.my is not responsible for injuries, losses, or damages arising from Vendor-provided items or services.
13. Indemnification
Customers agree to indemnify and hold harmless iRent.my from claims arising out of misuse of rental items, breach of these Terms, or violation of law.
14. Suspension & Termination
iRent.my may suspend or terminate Customer accounts for violations, fraud, or misuse of the Platform.
15. Amendments
iRent.my may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.
